My Education...Why Converse?

Why did I decide to go to college, you ask. Well let me tell you. For myself personally it was never and option NOT to go. I want to be an intelligent contributor to society. In an unstable economic society there is now way I would be able to support myself without a college education.
Converse College was always my first choice of college. I always heard wonderful things about the music program and when I came to audition, the beautiful campus stole my heart. Everywhere else I went to audition just couldn't touch the beauty and professional air here at Converse. I feel that the all women environment is ingenious. You truly get all you can out of your education because the classroom is centered around the female mind a mannerisms. 3% of college women will choose an all womens college and I firmly believe that the other 97% would love it too if they just gave it a chance.
I did not know that I wanted to go into music until the end of junior year. I always loved to sing but I never really considered it as a future for me. I was pretty hard core on engineering. I wanted to go in to aerospace studies so I could build satellites for NASA. When I met my voice teacher my junior year I was really excited. She went to Converse and as the year progressed she really urged me to consider voice in college. The more I learned from her the deeper I fell in love with all things classical. It was then that I felt another calling on my life....music! So here I am 2 years later majoring in choral music ed!
So if you haven't already guessed...if I couldn't do music anymore, I would without a doubt go into a space program. I am completely amazed at this unique and spectacular Universe that God breathed! I would love the chance to study it further!
